New Delhi: Kerala ranks first in the National Health Development Index of the Finance Commission. Kerala came first in the category of large states. Tamil Nadu is second. Telangana came in third. Uttar Pradesh is the worst performing state.

But from 2018 to 2019, Uttar Pradesh has the distinction of being the most advanced state in terms of health. The ranking is based on the 2019-20 season.

The report was prepared with the technical assistance of the World Bank in collaboration with the Ministry of National Health and Family Welfare. Mizoram won the award for best performance in small states. The Union Territories of Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir came last.

Kerala was ranked fifth in the Good Governance Index released by the Central Government yesterday. Gujarat is number one. Kerala is on the list of states which have improved in terms of industrial friendliness.
