Currently, Malappuram, Palakkad, and Thrissur districts are on Orange Alert, meaning they can expect rainfall between 115.6 mm and 204.4 mm over a 24-hour span. Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, and Idukki districts are under a Yellow Alert. Only Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam are not currently under any specific rainfall warning.

The state is experiencing extensive rainfall, with many areas in the northern districts seeing significant downpours since morning. Rivers are reportedly overflowing, contributing to the overall alert status. Strong southwesterly winds are also expected to accompany the intensifying weather.
