Kerala cruises to a good score against Goa in the Elite Group C match of the Ranji Trophy. Rohan Prem’s century puts Kerala at 247/5 at the end of Day 1.
Kerala, who won the toss and elected to bat, lost opener Rohan Kunnummal (20) while scoring 25 runs, but Rohan Prem, who came in at third, made the Goan bowling line ineffective. The player who scored 14 fours and a six remains unbeaten on 112 runs off 238 balls. Opener P. Rahul (31) returned quickly but senior player Sachin Baby scored 46 runs and gave good support to Rohan. Shaun Roger(6) and Akshay Chandran(20) also returned quickly. Sjomon Joseph, the captain who scored two runs, was at the crease with Rohan at the close of play on the first day.
Subham Desai and Mohit Redkar both for Goa, SD. Lad and Lakshay Garg took one wicket each. Star son Arjun Tendulkar failed to take any wicket.
