Riyadh: The Saudi Ministry of Manpower and Social Development has stated that the registration of labor contractors of natives and foreigners working in the private sector in Saudi Arabia must be done through the Khiva platform. Khiva Portal is an authorized platform for registering and approving employment contracts. The ministry also said that once the employment contract is registered through the Khiva platform, the employment contract information will be automatically updated with the General Organization for Social Insurance.

The employer should upload the contract

To register employment contracts of private sector workers, the organization contracting with the worker must first register the employment contract on the Khiva portal. For this, first you have to log into the Khiva platform and select the organization’s account. After selecting electronic services and contract documentation from the platform, the OTP received on the registered mobile phone should be entered. Then, after selecting the Create New Contract menu, enter the information related to the employee and the employment contract. After entering these completely, click the submit button and the process of registering the contract will be completed. The agreement will come into force only if the worker also approves it through the portal.

The employee must review and approve the contract

As for the contracted workers, they will receive the OTP to their registered mobile phone by logging into their personal account on the Khiva platform and clicking on the Employment Contracts icon. Enter this OTP and click on Job Offer icon. The Ministry of Manpower and Social Development also said that the worker has the right to accept or reject the contract or seek amendment in the contract after examining it. The Ministry also pointed out that the plan is in line with the Cabinet’s resolution to entrust the Ministry with the responsibility of managing the contractual relationship between the organization and the workers from the contract documentation to the termination of the contract relationship.

The Ministry of Manpower and Social Development said that by implementing the requirement of online registration of employment contracts through the Khiva platform, it aims to increase the attractiveness of the labor market in the country by providing protection to the private sector workers and employers in the country and ensuring that the rules related to the distribution of wages are properly followed. The Ministry of Manpower and Social Development in collaboration with all government departments has devised measures to facilitate the registration of employment contracts and to register employees with the General Organization for Social Insurance through Khiva, a unified platform for the business sector.
