Kifbi: Thomas Isaac in High Court against ED action

Thiruvananthapuram | Former state finance minister Thomas Isaac approached the High Court against the ED’s action in the Kifbi issue. The petition has requested the court to intervene to withdraw the summons and prohibit further proceedings. Enforcement Directorate’s summonses are illegal. The two notices received did not specify what the offense was.

Neither Kifby nor himself defined what FEMA violation was. An investigation which does not specify the nature of the offense is outside the purview of the ED. Isaac stated in the petition that Kifbi’s activities are legal.
