Her father, German, originally from Hamburg, works for Siemens as a director of medical services; her mother, an American of German and Swedish origin, instead employed in Lufthansa as a flight attendant. After the separation of her parents in 1993, Kirsten moves with her mother and brother to Los Angeles, where she continues her career as a baby model which began at the age of three.
