Residents of the area staged a sit-in protest at the Kotakshi office on Thursday to protest against the attempt to remove the road leading to the Veilukandapuram graveyard.
Kayathar circle has to cross the Kahn Bala stream to reach the cemetery belonging to the Kammavar community in Veilukandapuram. .
Kumarettiapuram panchayat leader tried to remove that river bridge on 20th of this month with the help of bowline machine. The people of the area stopped it with the help of revenue department and police department.
In this case, Sontha Senthilkumar of Veilukandapuram and other members of Veilukandapuram, under the leadership of National Farmers State Leader Renkanayaku, submitted a petition to Kotakshiyar’s designated assistant Isakkiraja, urging them to take appropriate action against those who are involved in removing the road leading to the graveyard and agricultural lands.
