An unpleasant New Year’s gift was prepared by the artistic director of the Moscow Art Theater. Chekhov to its director Airat Tukhvatulin – from January 1, the latter will leave the post of director. It is difficult to say what caused the separation: Tukhvatulin, although the director is young, has to his credit work at the Volkovsky Theater in Yaroslavl under Puskepalis, good reviews from colleagues. And in the Moscow Art Theater he does not have a bad reputation. And yet, Khabensky, apparently, has already found a replacement for him, since, according to our information, he is already preparing an order – from January 1, although telegram channels hastened to release the Moscow Art Theater director as of today.
The most interesting thing is that the founder of the Moscow Art Theater, the Ministry of Culture, is not aware of this decision.
It is still unknown who will take the director’s chair in the country’s main theater.
