An alternate-history war thriller where Nazi occultism collides with ancient Balkan lore has arrived on television screens in Serbia. Konstantinovo raskršće
premiered on the Superstar channel on November 7, 2026, following its initial debut in Australia, where it holds an IMDB rating of 7.3.
Constantine the Great and the Hunt for Holy Relics
Set near the end of World War II in occupied Serbia, the narrative follows Nazi forces hunting for the secret of Constantine the Great. According to ancient legend, the three iron spikes used to crucify Jesus Christ were scattered after his resurrection: one inserted into a ruler’s crown, another placed on the tip of a spear, and the third melted into a sword blade. Lore dictates that whoever holds all three holy relics will rule the world, with the third relic hidden on the Balkan peninsula in the birthplace of the first Roman emperor to embrace the cross.
The historical backdrop traces back to the spring of 1939, right before the outbreak of the war, when Reichsführer Heinrich Himmler presented Adolf Hitler with a map charting six directions for researching ancient Aryan roots, one of which pointed toward Serbia. In the occupied city of Niš, fanatic SS officer Henrik Kan arrives on a secret mission to secure the sword and reliquary of Constantine the Great, while British intelligence agent Major Nemanja Lukić returns to the city to thwart him. As the espionage plot unfolds, a series of ritualistic murders strikes both German occupiers and locals, accompanied by creatures emerging from the underground tunnels beneath the ancient city.

From Bestselling Library Hit to a World-Class Adaptation
The adaptation is based on the bestselling novel by Dejan Stojiljković, which sold over 80,000 copies and ranked as the most-read book in Serbian public libraries in 2010. The production brings together regional and international actors, led by Milan Marić in the role of agent Nemanja Lukić. Luka Peroš stars as SS officer Henrik Kan alongside Milena Radulović, Anica Dobra, Nikola Ristanovski, Toni Mihajlovski, Sloboda Mićalović, Aleksandar Jovanović, Velibor Topić, Zlatan Vidović, Toni Gojanović, and Miodrag Dragičević.
The television project is produced by TS Media and Firefly Productions, with set design developed by Miljen Kreka Kljaković. Novelist Dejan Stojiljković noted that the adaptation moves away from a direct translation of the book.

A great deal of effort and work has been invested, not only by the cast, but also by the props team, set designers, and costume designers. A massive job has been done. The series is, I can say, on a world-class level,
