KSV Witten Wrestlers Overcome Recent Struggles with Decisive Victory Over Nuremberg

KSV Witten 07 decisively ended a three-match losing streak on Saturday, defeating SV Johannis Nuremberg 25-10 in a commanding performance that signaled a turning point for the second division wrestling team. The Ruhrstadters, previously hampered by personnel challenges, appear to be regaining their form as they approach crucial upcoming matches.
Regaining Momentum After a Difficult Patch
After suffering three consecutive defeats, coach Samet Dülger’s team welcomed the opportunity to face Nuremberg and break their recent slump. The 37-year-old coach expressed a preference for closer contests, but acknowledged the importance of a confident win. “To be honest: I actually prefer the fights to be as close as they were last time against Greiz – but then with a better ending for us,” Dülger stated with a wink. He added, “In principle, it was already clear to me at the scales that we would win the fight today. Nuremberg didn’t have the two Levai brothers with them and also used an overweight wrestler.”
The victory was particularly satisfying given the relatively sparse attendance at the Husemannhalle.
Strategic Lineup Adjustments and Key Performances
KSV Witten showcased strategic flexibility by unexpectedly fielding Yusuf Demir and Mika Labes. Labes, recently recovered from a broken nose, stepped into the 71-kilo Greco-Roman style class and was quickly defeated by Vitalie Eriomenco, a U23 vice world champion from Moldova, in a pre-arranged outcome. The 17-year-old Labes is expected to resume light training next week and will avoid further competitive matches as a precaution.
Despite a setback for Demir, who was flown in specifically for the match and lost to Kazakh Amangali Bekbolatov, a 2022 World Cup competitor, KSV Witten established an 11-8 lead. The team then solidified their advantage with dominant performances from heavyweights Sertac Aksoy (4-0), Milad Fuladi Aloutsche (4-0), and Nico Brunner (3-0).
Aloutsche’s Spectacular Technique Steals the Show
Freestyle wrestler Milad Fuladi Aloutsche delivered a particularly memorable moment, captivating the crowd with a technically superior victory over Damir Shifadugov. Leading 5-2, Aloutsche executed a unique spin technique, securing five consecutive two-pointers. Hall spokesman Thomas Eigenbrodt, a former Bundesliga athlete, reminisced about the move, stating, “This crazy technique was my specialty back then; it worked against almost every opponent – except for world champion Rifat Yildiz.” Aloutsche himself confirmed the technique’s effectiveness, noting, “I’ve been using this technique since I was eleven or twelve years old. It usually works 90 percent of the time – and I also use it in my MMA fights.” He added that he can assess the viability of the technique within the first five seconds of applying it.
Closing Strong and Looking Ahead
A brief challenge arose early in the second section following a 1-5 defeat for 16-year-old Kamil Genzheev, bringing the score to 11-10. However, the KSV Witten camp remained composed. A strong performance from Noah Englich, who secured a 6-0 victory against Michael Janot, proved pivotal.
The final four duels were all won by the Dülger relay team, with Andrei Perpelita and Bredi Slinkers each earning four points through technical superiority. Burak Emin Salviz added four more points against an overweight opponent, sealing the victory.
KSV Witten, currently second in their northern relay, will face a significant test next Saturday, December 6th at 7:30 p.m. against league leaders AC Lichtenfels in Bavaria. They will then conclude their second division season with a home match against WKG Markneukirchen/Gelenau on December 13th at 7:30 p.m.
