Director Kusturica said that the culture of Russia cannot be canceled
Russian culture, because of its scale, depth and achievements, will never be “cancelled”, it is impossible. This point of view was expressed by the Serbian director and musician Emir Kusturica, speaking on the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Russian Center for Science and Culture (RCSC) “Russian House” in Belgrade.
Kusturica was awarded the medal “Great Russian writer F.M. Dostoevsky 1821 – 2021″. According to Kusturica, he is very happy that his name is associated with the great Russian writer.
As the director noted, without such writers as Dostoevsky, culture would easily be destroyed in Europe. But Russian culture simply cannot be rejected because of its characteristics and “timeless value,” Kusturica stressed.
