The Iraqi Kyokushinkai and Martial Arts Federation will hold the Iraqi Junior Championship tomorrow, Friday, at the Al-A’dhamiyah Sports Club Hall, and it will continue for two days.

The head of the game’s federation, Ammar Adnan Wahib, told the (INA) today, Thursday: “The Iraqi Junior Championship is the second championship according to the current year’s curriculum. It is an activation championship for the junior category born in (2012, 2011, 2010, 2009), indicating that “the championship will witness the participation of approximately 650 players from various Iraqi governorates.”

Wahib added, “The game’s base has many talented players who deserve the opportunity to participate in these events, but this category has fallen victim to the lack of funds. However, we hope during the coming period to allocate funds for these age groups that include real champions who meet the international champion project that the Ministry of Youth and the Olympic Committee seek.”

Wahib explained that “his federation seeks to conclude the local championships in order to devote itself to preparing for the Arab Championship, which is expected to be held in the capital, Baghdad, on December 4th and will last for a week.”

Wahib continued: “Through the , I appeal to Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani to support this tournament and host our Arab brothers, especially since Baghdad hosts the headquarters of the Asian Federation presidency and plays a leading role on the continental level for the largest federation and sports fan base after football.”
