“Casa de los Famosos Mexico” Renewed for Fourth Season, Attracts Massive Viewership
The hit reality television show, “Casa de los famosos Mexico,” will return for a fourth season following its resounding success, with over 132 million viewers tuning in to the latest installment.
Just hours after crowning the winner of the third edition – who received a 4 million peso prize – producers have confirmed plans for a continuation of the popular series. The proclamation signals a strong vote of confidence in the show’s format and appeal to a broad audience.
“The first scoop we can give you on behalf of Televisaunivision and the Production Company Endemol is that we are going for a fourth season to celebrate the success of the first, second and the third,” stated a producer. “we are already beginning to close celebrities and for now, we already have the first signed. It is indeed a celebrity that will surely make them fall in love.”
The recently concluded season captivated audiences over nearly 10 weeks, following the journeys of 15 participants as they competed to become the ultimate “Casa de los Famosos” champion. The final five contestants – Dalilah Polanco, Mar Contreras, Aldo de Nigris, Abelito, and Shike – battled for the top prize. The ninth elimination gala proved to be a pivotal moment, garnering a record-breaking 25.3 million votes, and drawing in over 14.6 million television viewers.
Behind the Scenes: A 24/7 Operation
The show’s immersive experience extends beyond the televised broadcast. A dedicated 24/7 feed, available through the Vix+ streaming platform, provides viewers with continuous access to the contestants’ lives within the “Casa.” This ambitious undertaking requires a significant production team. Nacho Greco, content director, oversees a team of over 500 individuals working in “The Heart of Production.” This control room features wall-to-wall screens displaying footage from the 61 robotic cameras strategically positioned throughout the residence.
For eight-hour shifts, production staff meticulously monitor the inhabitants’ every move, identifying and broadcasting compelling moments to the viewing public. A dedicated team member compiles a daily blog detailing events within the house, which is then reviewed by the entire team to ensure comprehensive coverage. “All houses are different, they have their own spirit and soul. In this one we have done very well. The truth that has been very colorful, very fun and the public has reacted very well,” explained Patricio “Pato” Cordero, executive producer of the foreigners and postgagers of Vix. “A great plus is that the subscribers are entitled to 10 votes.”
The Rise of Wendy guevara and Celebrity Appearances
The season also witnessed the unexpected emergence of Wendy Guevara as a popular host, alongside Ricardo Margaleff and marie Claire Harp. Guevara’s authentic personality resonated with viewers. “I was not so prepared, but here they told me ‘you have to be Wendy, not to lose your essence, you calm.’ I say ‘Oh, ma’am, thank you, I’m going to shoot a Caguama’,” Guevara shared. Margaleff praised Guevara’s natural talent, noting, “You have made it amazing as, in addition to the technicalities that a driver must dominate, Wendy dose very well and dominates ‘El Chícharo’ better than many people I know.”
adding to the show’s appeal, several prominent figures made special appearances throughout the season, including Yatra, 21st floor, and Firm Group.
The success of “Casa de los Famosos Mexico” underscores the enduring popularity of reality television and the power of immersive, multi-platform viewing experiences. The fourth season promises to build on this momentum, delivering even more drama, intrigue, and celebrity encounters to its devoted fanbase.
