Los Angeles to Host International Migrants Day March, Calls for Corporate Accountability

A Response to ICE Raids and Shifting Political Climates
The planned march and rally will traverse several Los Angeles neighborhoods significantly impacted by recent Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids, including Koreatown and MacArthur Park. Organizers have strategically chosen to conclude the demonstration at a Home Depot location in the Pico-Union neighborhood, areas identified as hotspots for enforcement actions.
This year’s event takes on added urgency, organizers say, due to what they describe as a growing lack of compassion toward vulnerable populations within the U.S. and other nations. The 2025 theme for International Migrants Day, “My Great Story: Cultures and Development,” underscores the positive impact of human mobility on economic growth and social enrichment.
Boycott Targets Major Retailers
Beyond the march, the coalition is actively promoting a boycott of big box retailers, specifically Target and Home Depot. The groups allege that these corporations have failed to publicly oppose violence and discrimination targeting immigrants and other marginalized communities.
“These companies have a responsibility to stand up for the rights of all people,” stated a representative from the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles. “Their silence is complicity.”
