WKU Women’s Golf Set to Conclude Fall Season at Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate

The Western Kentucky University (WKU) women’s golf team will finish its fall schedule at the prestigious Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of Tennessee, from October 5-7, 2025. The tournament, held at the Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville, Tennessee, marks the fourth and final fall competition for the Lady Toppers.

The Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate will follow a three-day, 54-hole stroke play format, with 18 holes played each day. The competition begins on Sunday, October 5th, and concludes on Tuesday, October 7th, with live scoring available throughout the event.

Lady Toppers’ Lineup and Recent Performance

WKU Head Coach will field a team comprised of Sydney Hackett, Clinic assets, Leah Edwards, Reagan Ramage, and Grace Frei. This tournament represents the culmination of a fall season that has seen the Lady Toppers gain valuable experience against strong competition.

In their first tournament of the fall, the team secured a ninth-place finish at the Boilermaker Classic, hosted by Purdue. They then improved to a third-place showing at the Badger Invitational, hosted by Wisconsin. Most recently, WKU finished tenth at the Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate, hosted by Vanderbilt.

Hackett Leads the Charge

Sydney Hackett, a senior, has consistently led the Lady Toppers throughout the fall season, finishing as the team’s top performer in all three tournaments played to date. Her outstanding play has been recognized with two Conference USA Golfer of the Week awards this season, solidifying her position as a key player for WKU.

Competitive Field Awaits in Knoxville

The Lady Toppers will compete against a challenging field of 15 teams, including host Tennessee, South Alabama, Charlotte, Mercer, Penn State, FIU, TCU, Middle Tennessee, Chattanooga, East Tennessee State, Memphis, Jacksonville State, Campbell, and Oregon State. This diverse field promises a competitive environment and an opportunity for WKU to test its skills against some of the top programs in the region.
