LAKE GARDA. The level of 123 centimeters on hydrometric zero it is the only similar detection since 1998. The first consequence was the constant outflow of 130 cubic meters per second coming out of the Salionze regulatory building for several days now.
The forecasts do not help by predicting further rainfall for the weekend and so from Tuesday the outflow was brought to 140 cubic meters per second as requested by the Garda Community in Aipo. In the next few years it will be understood whether the measure will be sufficient to keep the lake below the alarm level.
Faced with a record level, Garda becomes a special observation: «It is a worrying measure for the period – explains Pierlucio Ceresa, general secretary of the Garda Community – especially since it will be bad weather until Sunday with persistent rain across the entire Garda basin».
However, the outflow solution is not a certain solution, because the possibility of discharge also depends on the flood of the Po and how the levels are received downstream. If all goes well, a further increase in the outflow cannot be ruled out.
Since Sunday 20 October, Garda has settled at a level of 123.5 centimetres, with a slight drop on Monday, reaching 123.2 centimetres.
