Road traffic was cut off on national road No. 3 this Saturday, September 7, in Dioumayah in the urban commune of Dubreka. A landslide occurred on this axis that connected Conakry to Boké, preventing any movement of machinery.
From 3 am, after heavy rain, a landslide occurred in Khorira in the Dioumaya (Dubreka) area, blocking traffic on this part which is usually very busy. According to our information, a part of the mountain bordered the road at the beginning of the descent, a few meters from the Khorira bridge. “The mountain at the bridge, which we call Khoria, has fallen. Rocks and tree branches have fallen on the road and are blocking all traffic. This was caused by the heavy rain that fell on the area yesterday,” says Idrissa Bah who was contacted by our editorial team on the telephone.
As a result, a huge traffic jam was created on both sides for several kilometers. This causes great inconvenience to users. But the government is taking steps to restore traffic. “There was a Caterpillar this morning, but another one is being sent across the road to speed things up.”
Note that on September 6, traffic was cut on national road No. 1 between Coyah and Kindia also, that flooding caused traffic blockage until late at night.
