The T-Ten cricket tournament has become popular worldwide. Following that, Lanka T-Ten League is going to be held for the first time. This event will be held at the end of this year. This match of ten overs will continue for 10 days from December 12 to December 22.
This tournament was supposed to be organized last year but it has been postponed to this year. In the first edition, teams have already started organizing themselves. In the first round, Sri Lanka’s top level international stars will compete with international stars.
Sri Lanka Cricket Board president Shammi Silver believes that this tournament will help the youth of Sri Lanka to develop. He believes that the talented youth of the country will take themselves to new heights by playing with international stars.
Shammi Silva said, ‘I am fully confident that this tournament will be a great success for us, taking Sri Lankan cricket forward. It will not only provide entertainment but also serve as a medium to popularize cricket.’
Mr. Anil Mohan, one of the members of the organizing committee of this tournament said, ‘This is a great step for us. We are going to organize another jam packed event. It will bring together top international stars and local talent from around the world.’
Six teams will compete in this event. Each team will have 16 players. A team can take a maximum of six foreign players. The matches of the tournament will be held at several international venues in Sri Lanka. But the venue has not been finalized yet. All matches will be played at night.
