Lara Fabian: New Show “The Lara Effect” & Year in Review

Lara Fabian to Mentor Rising Artists in New Show, “The Lara Effect”

A unique vocal masterclass is coming to screens this spring, as singer Lara Fabian opens her Sicilian home to a group of artists seeking to refine their craft. The new show, titled “The Lara Effect,” is set to premiere on TVA on April 12.

The announcement was made Monday evening by Jean-Philippe Dion, producer and host of the cultural magazine Sweet Frosted, following a meeting with Fabian in Paris. He was there as she participated in recordings for The Voice in France, where she currently serves as a coach.

The Sweet Frosted team also attended a performance by the former director of Star Academy in Bercy, a venue comparable in size to Montreal’s Bell Center, capitalizing on Fabian’s presence across the Atlantic. This appearance was just one highlight of an exceptionally busy 2025 for the artist, which also included her involvement as godmother on Star Academy, an album launch, and the commencement of a tour.

“It’s too much if you think it’s too much. But it’s fair if you welcome this incredible gift that life continues to give you as long as you are an artist,” Fabian shared with Dion. The 55-year-old singer acknowledged the demanding pace, adding with a laugh, “Afterwards, I had plenty of moments where I came home. I had a lot of moments when I was with family and I had a lot of moments where my body said to me, ‘Hey, mom, go rest for a couple of weeks.'”

Fabian emphasized her gratitude for continued relevance, stating, “Your body, physiologically, can sometimes have moments of down but I have so much gratitude that I still make sense to people. If I am here and people continue to see me, it is certainly because people still have desire.”

Directed by Amélie Dussault, “The Lara Effect” will offer viewers an intimate look into Fabian’s world as she works with Mélissa Bédard, Nathalie Simard, Alex Nevsky, Christian Bégin, and Ève Côté. The six one-hour episodes were filmed in Sicily, Italy, and produced by Productions Déferlantes in collaboration with Quebecor Content.

Fabian described the production as “probably one of the best-made shows of my entire life that I’ve participated in,” while also admitting to feeling overwhelmed at times by the scale of the project and the presence of the film crew.
