That’s what it’s about: Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) works as a deep-sea diver on a secret mission for the US Navy. During an exploration expedition in the Mariana Trench with his crew, they come across a prehistoric and oversized shark, a so-called megalodon. After Jonas is the only one to survive the encounter, he decides to devote himself to paleobiology. Years later, an old friend from the past, Masao Tanaka, asks him for his help in salvaging a submarine in the Mariana Trench. Although Jonas still mourns his deceased team members, he agrees. But when Jonas and Masao are there, the megalodon appears again.
