Olympus Rally, Washington – Rallying legend Jari-Matti Latvala is set to make his American Rally Association (ARA) debut at the Olympus Rally next month, piloting a Toyota GR Corolla Rally RC2. The announcement marks a significant step for both Latvala, a 18-time World Rally Championship (WRC) event winner, and Toyota, as they expand their presence in the burgeoning American rally scene. This will be Latvala’s first competitive rally on American soil, adding a new chapter to a storied career.
Latvala, who currently serves as the team principal for Toyota Gazoo Racing WRC, will share the Toyota effort with fellow driver Seth Quintero. Quintero previously debuted the GR Corolla Rally RC2 in the ARA series at the 100 Acre Wood Rally in March, marking the car’s first competition appearance in the United States. The Olympus Rally, scheduled for April 17-19, will be the first time Toyota has entered two of its new GR Corolla RC2 machines in an ARA event.
“I’m super excited to announce that I will be driving in the American Rally Championship in the Olympus Rally with the GR Corolla RC2 alongside Seth Quintero in the second car,” Latvala said. “It will be my first time ever competing on American soil and I’m really excited about it, and to see those stages and see the atmosphere in America.”
