Lauryn Hill Announces Canadian ‘Artist in Residence’ Tour Dates

A highly anticipated tour featuring Lauryn Hill is set too bring the iconic artist to eight Canadian cities this winter, beginning next month. The “Artist in Residence” tour promises a unique live experience, but comes with a degree of uncertainty given Hill’s history with concert cancellations and delays.
tickets for all shows will go on sale this Friday, October 24, at 12 p.m. local time. A portion of proceeds from each ticket sold – $2 per ticket – will benefit the MLH Fund,supporting local community outreach initiatives.
Tour Kicks Off in Winnipeg in November
The tour begins on November 19 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the Burton Cummings Theatre.Hill will then travel west to British Columbia, playing a show in Vancouver on November 24 at The Orpheum. The tour continues eastward,with performances scheduled in Hamilton,Ontario (November 30 at FirstOntario Concert hall),Montreal,Quebec (December 3 at Place des Arts),Calgary,Alberta (December 8 at Southern alberta Jubilee Auditorium),and Edmonton,Alberta (December 10 at Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium).
Ontario and Ottawa Mark the tour’s Final Stops
The final leg of the tour will see Hill performing in Toronto, Ontario, on December 16 at massey Hall, before concluding in Ottawa, Ontario, on December 19 at the National Arts Center. this extensive itinerary covers a broad geographic range across Canada, offering fans in multiple provinces the prospect to see the acclaimed artist live.
Past Cancellations Cast a Shadow
Hill has faced criticism in the past for cancelling performances and arriving late to concerts. She was recently involved in a legal dispute with Fugees bandmate Pras Michel regarding the cancellation of thier planned reunion tour.The dispute, filed in New York, alleged Michel mismanaged funds and ultimately led to the tour’s collapse in 2023. One analyst noted that these past issues have understandably led to some apprehension among fans.However, organizers are hopeful that this Canadian tour will proceed smoothly.
