A 31-year-old woman was stabbed with knives on Friday afternoon in Laval. The suspect, a 30-year-old man, also inflicted injuries on himself, according to the Service de police de Laval (SPL). The two people were transported to a hospital center, but there is no fear for their lives.
The SPL received a call around 1:20 p.m., about an injured woman on rue Laguerrier, in the Sainte-Rose sector.
“When the police arrived on the scene, they found that the woman was injured in the upper body,” said SPL spokeswoman Stéphanie Bechara.
The suspect was present at the scene and was arrested. The two people will be met by the investigators when their state of health permits.
A security perimeter was erected at the scene of the attack. Forensic identity technicians were tasked with reconstructing the scene.
