Leader who filed complaint against Chinta should be protected: HC

Thiruvananthapuram: The High Court has issued an interim order to provide police protection to the Youth Congress leader who filed a complaint against Youth Commission Chairperson Chinta Jerome regarding his stay at a luxury resort. The court directed the Kottiam SHO to provide security to Youth Congress state general secretary Vishnu Sunil Pantalam till Monday.

Vishnu filed a complaint with the Vigilance, demanding that Chintham spent around Rs 38 lakhs on accommodation in luxury resorts and so on, asking to check the source of income as well. The petitioner also told the court that after filing the complaint, the party leaders beat him up on the instructions of Chinta and the resort owner. The High Court sought the government’s stand on the petition and adjourned the case to Monday.
