“Our house was flooded as high as 60 centimeters and it hasn’t receded yet,” said Lala, 45, a resident of Pasir Kongsen Rangkasbitung, Lebak Regency, Saturday.

The flood that hit the Pasir Kongsen settlement was after heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds from 15.30 WIB to 17.00 WIB.

In fact, currently rainfall is still ongoing with light intensity.

Floodwaters are still engulfing hundreds of local residents’ houses with water levels between 20-60 centimeters.

“We are used to being hit by frequent floods if heavy rain lasts for about 1.5 hours,” said Lala.

Likewise, Dahlan, 70, a resident of the Education Complex, Rangkasbitung, said that his house was flooded as high as 30 centimeters and is now being suctioned using a water pump.

However, the floodwaters have not receded because the existing drainage is blocked and the water is not flowing.
