Mikati asked, “The Minister of Foreign Affairs to inform the Iranian Chargé d’Affaires of the Lebanese position in this regard and that it is a Lebanese right only, and Beirut also rejects any imposed guardianship.”

Mikati said: “We are surprised by this position, which constitutes a blatant interference in Lebanese affairs, and an attempt to establish an unacceptable guardianship over Lebanon, knowing that we had informed the Iranian Foreign Ministry and the Speaker of the Shura Council during their recent visits to Lebanon of the necessity of understanding the Lebanese situation, especially since Lebanon is being subjected to unprecedented Israeli aggression, and we are working.” I have all Lebanon’s friends, including France, to pressure Israel to cease fire.”

Mikati continued: “The subject of negotiations to implement International Resolution No. 1701 is undertaken by the Lebanese state, and everyone is required to support it in this direction, not to seek to impose new mandates that are rejected by all national and sovereign considerations.”

The Iranian Parliament confirmed that “Tehran supports everything agreed upon by the Lebanese government and the resistance to achieve a sustainable ceasefire,” denying “what was attributed to Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf.”

The statement stressed that “what was attributed to Qalibaf by some media outlets is completely incorrect,” noting that “his positions regarding the current developments in Lebanon did not differ from those he expressed in his speech at the General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and during his recent visit to Lebanon, as well as During his interviews with the media.

He stated, “These positions were clear and frank, namely that Iran supports everything approved by the Lebanese people, their government, and the resistance to achieve a permanent truce.” This is the position that was also confirmed in his meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati.”

The statement added: “It is natural that no party is under the illusion that a sustainable political settlement can be reached without the approval of the resistance.” Accordingly, Iran could be ready to cooperate with Europe to support any truce approved by the resistance and the Lebanese government.”

Media outlets circulated a statement by Qalibaf, saying that it was in an interview with Le Figaro, where he indicated that “Tehran is ready to negotiate with Paris regarding the implementation of Resolution 1701, which stipulates the deployment of the Lebanese army only in the south,” adding: “We believe that Iran “It will be ready to negotiate concretely about the procedures for implementing Resolution 1701 with France, which will act as a mediating state between Hezbollah and Israel.” He continued, saying: “Iran is ready to negotiate with France, the country that traditionally protects Lebanon, about the concrete conditions for implementing United Nations Resolution 1701.”
