Lee Ye-won (20, KB Financial Group) took the lead on the first day of the NH Investment & Securities Ladies Championship (total prize money of 800 million won) of the Korea Ladies Professional Golf (KLPGA) Tour.

Ye-won Lee recorded 6 under par 66 strokes with 7 birdies and 1 bogey in the first round of the tournament held at Suwon Country Club (par 72) in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do on the 10th.

Yewon Lee started the competition in a good mood by taking the top spot on the leaderboard.

It is 2 strokes behind Lee Ga-young (25, NH Investment & Securities, 4 under par, 68 strokes), who is in second place.

Ye-won Lee, who swept the grand prize, top prize money, and average stroke awards last year, boosted her momentum this season by winning the Blue Canyon Ladies Championship, her second tournament.

However, she slowed down a bit after April, but last week, she performed well in the World Ladies Championship Salonpas Cup, a major tournament on the Japan Ladies Professional Golf (JLPGA) Tour, by taking the lead until the third round and finishing in third place.

This week, after returning to Korea, he recorded his lowest score of the season in the first round, and his good shooting skills seem to be continuing.

After the game, Yewon Lee said, “I had a good shot feeling in Japan, so I worked hard to not lose that feeling by making a lot of blank swings. Thanks to that, I was able to finish this tournament with good results from the first day.”

He added, “Last year in this competition, we were in the lead until the first half of the last day, but then dropped down in the second half. This year, we are trying to remember last year’s mistakes and not make the same mistakes.”

Lee Ga-young, who participated in the sponsor’s tournament, also cruised to second place, recording 4 under par on the first day.

Lee Ga-young recorded her first win in her career at the 2022 Dongbu Construction/Korea Land Trust Championship, and last year, she finished second twice without winning.

Park Ji-young (28, Korea Land Trust), who became the first to reach multiple wins with her second win of the season at the Kyochon 1991 Ladies Championship held last week, also tied for third place on the first day.

Along with Park Ji-young, Hwang Yu-min (21, Lotte) and Madasom (25, Samcheolli) are in the same ranking.

Park Min-ji (26, NH Investment & Securities), who is trying again to regain first place in career prize money, faltered on the first day.

Minji Park exchanged 3 birdies for 3 bogeys on this day and only scored an even par 72.

Minji Park tied for 30th place with Ina Yoon (21, Hite Jinro) and Heejeong Lim (24, Doosan Engineering & Construction).
