Lee Yi Kyung Allegation Investigation Continues as Accuser Cooperates with Korean Police
The individual who brought forth allegations of inappropriate conduct against South Korean actor Lee Yi Kyung has reaffirmed their commitment to a police investigation, stating they have fully cooperated with authorities despite logistical challenges. The accuser, known only as Person A, released a statement on Thursday detailing their ongoing collaboration with Korean law enforcement, a case stemming from claims made last year.
Person A explained the delay in a public statement was due to a desire to prioritize the official investigation. “The reason I haven’t made a separate statement until now is because I have been cooperating with the Korean police investigation,” they stated. The accuser also acknowledged the complexities of navigating a foreign legal system, expressing initial concerns about potential disadvantages.
Evidence Submitted, Identity Confirmed
According to the statement, Person A has submitted all currently available evidence related to the allegations and has provided their identity to investigators. Due to an inability to travel to Korea, cooperation is being conducted remotely with the lead investigator. The investigation, which began over a month ago, is described as “taking a considerable amount of time.”
“Even if it takes time, I intend to cooperate faithfully until the end and await the results,” Person A affirmed. They expressed confidence that the investigation will ultimately reveal the truth surrounding the materials they provided. “Once the investigation is complete, I believe it will be clearly revealed through the authorities who the person involved in the provided materials is.”
Initial Allegations and Lee Yi Kyung’s Response
The controversy surrounding Lee Yi Kyung erupted last year when allegations surfaced on online communities, claiming the actor had engaged in inappropriate online conversations. Person A specifically alleged the exchange of vulgar conversations with the actor and subsequently disclosed details of these interactions.
In response, Lee Yi Kyung’s agency vehemently denied the claims and announced plans to pursue legal action against those responsible for spreading what they characterized as “false information and malicious rumors.” Following the public outcry, Lee Yi Kyung stepped down from his roles on the popular MBC entertainment show Hangout with Yoo and the E Channel variety program Brave Detectives 4.
Person A concluded their statement with a plea for transparency, stating, “I sincerely hope the truth of this case is clearly uncovered, no matter how long it takes.” The outcome of the investigation remains to be seen, but the accuser’s continued cooperation signals a determination to see the matter resolved through official channels.
