Legrand raised its 2026 sales growth forecast on Thursday for the second time this year, citing robust demand for data centre infrastructure. The company now expects sales growth of 20% to 22% excluding currency effects and organic sales growth of 11% to 13% for the year, an increase from the 16% to 19% and 8% to 10% ranges, respectively, previously announced in July.
Data Centre Demand Drives Revenue
The electrical and digital building infrastructure group reported revenue of EUR8.33 billion ($9.35 billion) for the first nine months of the year. This figure represents an organic growth of 12.7%, surpassing the EUR8.08 billion and 10.1% organic growth that analysts had anticipated in a company-provided consensus.
Legrand has shifted its focus to capitalize on the surge in artificial intelligence, moving beyond its traditional wiring and installation products. The company now supplies critical components for data centres, including power distribution, busways, UPS systems, cooling, and racks.
Around a third of the group’s turnover comes from the data centre, which has achieved growth of nearly 40% over nine months,

Global Infrastructure Expansion
Management attributed the strong performance to sustained orders from US hyperscalers and accelerating demand across all geographic regions. According to the company, the geopolitical focus on technology has created a favorable environment for its business.
AI has become a matter of sovereignty, and so there will be a push to build data-centre infrastructure in most countries; nobody can afford to miss out on this wave,

Geographically, 40.4% of net sales are generated in the Europe region, while 42.3% come from North and Central America and 17.3% from the rest of the world. In terms of its product mix, 53% of sales are derived from products with enhanced value in use, such as data centres, energy transition and digital lifestyles, while 47% come from essential infrastructure products.
Beyond data centres, the company noted that electrification accounts for approximately one-fifth of its sales, with growth rates of 4% to 6%. Traditional building products, which comprise about half of total sales, have seen only marginal growth.
Growth Through Acquisitions
Legrand continues to rely on acquisitions to support its expansion, having announced seven takeovers in 2026. The company expects these recent deals to contribute approximately 8% to its total sales for the year.
