FC Bayern Munich already has a lot of injuries to complain about. Now two more stars are stricken. One is out for the Bochum game.
FC Bayern Munich will have to do without national player Leroy Sané in the starting line-up for the Bundesliga game against VfL Bochum. The “Bild” newspaper and Sky initially reported this in agreement. Accordingly, Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel cannot rely on the winger in the starting line-up due to knee problems.
Shortly before kick-off, the Munich team announced the line-up for the game. And actually: Sané is not in the first eleven, but Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is. Sky had already reported that the Cameroonian would replace Sané.
Sané still made the trip to Bochum so that he could at least help his team with a short assignment if necessary. He sits on the bench. Another change in the starting eleven: Matthijs de Ligt replaces Dayot Upamecano in defense.
It’s also bitter for FC Bayern: Aleksandar Pavlović is definitely out of the game. The club announced on the X platform that the talent had hip problems and would therefore be missed by the team. Pavlović had played from the start several times in the past few weeks and delivered largely convincing performances.
Sané has always been on the pitch so far
Bayern are under pressure against Bochum. Leverkusen’s victory on Saturday means the “Werkself” are now eight points ahead of the German record champions. A win is urgently needed if Bayern don’t want to permanently lose touch with the top of the table.
Sané in particular has been an important player for Munich so far this season. He was on the pitch in all 31 competitive games and even started in all 21 Bundesliga games. Now he joins Pavlović in a long list of injuries: Alphonso Davies, Sacha Boey, Konrad Laimer, Kingsley Coman, Serge Gnabry, Bouna Sarr and young talent Tarek Buchmann are all currently out injured.
