Most recently, Mark Keller was able to inspire both the “Let’s Dance” jury and the TV viewers with his dancing skills. But now his health is bringing him to his knees.

It was a special moment of this year’s “Let’s Dance” season. In the “Magic Moment” show, Mark Keller and his professional dancer Kathrin Menzinger were so convincing that he received 30 points from the jury for his performance.

A triumph for the “Bergdoktor” star – but one that now has bitter consequences. At this point, Mark Keller was already battling an inflamed Achilles tendon, which now forced him to make a serious decision.

“The whole trip was special”

“Unfortunately it’s over. I unfortunately have to retire, I injured my Achilles tendon – last time after the ‘Magic Moment’ during the dance. I had difficulties before, but after that I was really limping,” explains Mark Keller at RTL. His Achilles tendon is now slightly torn – and is in danger of tearing completely if the strain continues.

Mark Keller is disappointed that he has to leave “Let’s Dance” for health reasons. The 59-year-old is also happy that he was able to experience the dance adventure at all: “It’s only thanks to you and thanks to Kathrin that I’ve come this far. Incredible choreographies. I have a piece of the dream that I had as a little boy, I’ve experienced it “That was something very special. The whole season, the whole journey was something special,” said the TV actor. The fact that he made it this far was more than he ever dreamed of.

Even if he can no longer stand on the floor himself, he wants to be there live in the coming weeks. He wanted to cheer on his former competitors. Mark Keller’s “Let’s Dance” exit has something positive for one of his prominent colleagues: singer Lulu Lewe, who was eliminated last week, is taking his place. She has already resumed training with Massimo Sinató.

Mark Keller is not the first celebrity to have to leave “Let’s Dance” this year for health reasons. Tony Bauer, who suffers from short bowel syndrome, also announced his departure a week ago.
