A whole village together, everyone in the town vacated their houses and went to Tirupati for Sami’s darshan! Since there is no one in the town, Pochampalli Police and Panchayat Chairman are engaged in security work to protect the people there.
There are about 45 residential houses in Vasanthapuram village near Bochampalli in Krishnagiri district. Once in 4 years everyone in the village visits the Tirupati temple as per the custom of the village. In that way, all the villagers of Vasanthapuram went to the Tirupati temple last night.
The village itself is deserted now that everyone has left, with only a few old and sick people remaining in the village. On learning this, Bochampalli Police Commissioner Prabhavathy has appointed two policemen for the security of the village. Likewise Panchayat President S. Ranganathan visits the village from time to time and provides security. The incident of vacating the town and going to the Tirupati temple is being talked about in the area.
