Thiruvananthapuram ∙ Crime Branch’s FIR without accused in Mayor’s letter controversy. Named the accused as ‘unknown’, the crime branch also mentioned that someone tampered with the mayor’s official letter pad. Even though there is a strong allegation that some people in the CPM are behind the circulated letter, the crime branch is not pointing any finger at it. Although it is recorded in the FIR that the letter was prepared artificially and circulated on social media etc., it is also mysterious that the case was not filed under the sections of the IT Act.
A letter sent by Mayor Arya Rajendran to District Secretary Anavoor Nagappan seeking the list of CPM for the temporary appointment of 295 people under the Corporation came out on the 5th of this month. The mayor complained that the letter was prepared and circulated on his letter pad. According to the report, the original of the letter was not found and a case should be registered and further investigation should be conducted. Accepting this, DGP Anilkanth ordered to take up the case.
