Lewisville Firefighter and Father of Three Dies in Fort Worth Motorcycle Crash

A fundraiser has been launched to support the family of a Lewisville firefighter who tragically died in a motorcycle accident in Fort Worth on Thursday night. The loss of Michael swope, a dedicated public servant and father of three young children, has deeply impacted the Lewisville community.

The Lewisville Fire Department announced Swope’s death in a Facebook post on Friday morning, confirming he passed away while off-duty. Swope had been a valued member of the department since 2019.

The Fort Worth Police Department responded to reports of a motorcycle accident on Thursday night at the intersection of Camp Bowie eastbound and I-30 eastbound.Officers arriving at the scene found a motorcyclist had collided with a guard rail and been ejected from the vehicle. The motorcyclist was subsequently identified as Michael Swope by the Lewisville Fire Department.

Authorities confirmed Swope died as an inevitable result of his injuries. The Fort Worth Police Department’s Traffic Inquiry Unit is conducting a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
