LG Household & Health Care will provide 96,000 bottles of its premium spring water, ‘Whio Ullim Water,’ to attendees of the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit, scheduled to take place in Gyeongju, South Korea, later this month. The move follows the selection of Ulleung Saemmul Co., Ltd., a joint venture between LG Household & Health Care and Ulleung-gun, as an official APEC sponsor on Thursday.
Elevating K-Water on the Global Stage
The sponsorship represents a significant opportunity for LG Household & Health Care to introduce its flagship water brand to a global audience of political leaders, business executives, and media representatives from 21 participating APEC nations. The company plans to establish a dedicated product promotion booth at the ‘K-Food Station,’ located near the Gyeongju International Media Center (IMC), to highlight the unique qualities of Ullim Water.
The Pristine Source of Ullim Water
Ullim Water distinguishes itself through its unique origin and purification process. Sourced from the island of Ulleungdo, the water originates from snow and rainfall that filters through the Seonginbong Primeval Forest, a protected natural monument (No. 189). This natural filtration system, spanning 31 years, results in “surface-exposed spring water” drawn from the island’s volcanic bedrock. The water is naturally rich in essential inorganic substances like silica, potassium, and calcium.
“Just providing Ullim water from Ulleung-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do to APEC held in Gyeongsangbuk-do is the best opportunity to highlight the symbolism of the venue and promote differentiated customer value globally,” a senior official stated. “We will show the unique flavor and essence of premium K-water to global VIPs visiting the conference venue.”
Since its launch, Ullim Water has primarily been available in high-end settings, including VIP lounges in department stores and five-star hotels. This strategic positioning underscores the brand’s commitment to quality and exclusivity. The APEC Summit sponsorship will broaden its reach, introducing the brand to a wider, influential audience.
The company anticipates that showcasing Ullim Water at the APEC Summit will not only promote the product but also reinforce South Korea’s image as a producer of high-quality, natural beverages. This initiative aligns with broader efforts to elevate the profile of premium K-water on the international market.
