The statement of the NA “Armenia” faction:
“Dear compatriots,
The statements made by Nikol Pashinyan in Tavush Marz on March 18 confirm all our concerns of unilaterally meeting the Azerbaijani preconditions in the ongoing negotiation process.
In particular:
Without a final agreement and compliance with the principle of reciprocity, partial demarcation and demarcation is entirely in the interests of Azerbaijan.
Starting the process of segmental demarcation and demarcation from Tavush marz itself will lead to the destruction of the strongest and most equipped part of the front line of the Republic of Armenia, will significantly weaken the defense capabilities of the Republic of Armenia in that part, and will create immediate dangers for the border population.
The actual loss of control over strategic roads will multiply RA’s security threats.
Fulfilling Azerbaijan’s incessant demands by continuously threatening its own people with war will not only prevent Azerbaijan from advancing new demands, but will also create fertile ground for new aggressive actions by the latter.
Abandonment of the best practice of demarcation and demarcation in favor of Azerbaijan, neglect of international experience are evidence of abandonment of vital national interests.
It should be emphasized that actions aimed at fully or partially restricting the sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia in favor of another state, handing over territories are serious crimes against the state.
