Lindsay Lohan is back in Toronto filming the upcoming Netflix romantic comedy Return to You alongside Henry Golding, reuniting with director Mark Waters over two decades after their work on 2000s hits.
Cameras are rolling in Toronto for Return to You, a new romantic feature for Netflix that pairs Lindsay Lohan with Henry Golding. Production on the project officially kicked off on September 28 and is scheduled to continue through November 10.

Set in the year 2008, the story introduces a pre-smartphone era where physical media sets the narrative in motion. Lohan portrays a powerful but lonely attorney whose life shifts when she mistakenly receives an emotional recording meant for someone else.

Golding takes on the role of the grieving widower whom the lawyer tracks down using the clues left on the disc. Screenwriter Eric Champnella penned the script, building an emotional premise around an accidental delivery that forces the professional-minded protagonist to confront her own isolation.
Before any romance can grow, the protagonist must evaluate her responsibility toward the stranger whose private message landed in her hands. The narrative relies on the mystery contained within the recording, requiring the lawyer to unravel the clues left behind to complete her search.
Mark Waters Reunites With Lindsay Lohan
The film brings Lohan back together with director Mark Waters, marking their first collaboration in more than twenty years. Waters previously directed Lohan in two teen comedies of the 2000s: Freaky Friday in 2003 and Mean Girls in 2004.
In the years following their initial collaborations, Waters has directed several projects for Netflix, including He’s All That, Mother of the Bride, and La Dolce Villa.
Beyond her starring role, Lohan serves as a producer on the project alongside Brad Krevoy. Krevoy previously produced several of Lohan’s earlier streaming features, including Falling for Christmas and Irish Wish.
Lohan and Golding Film in Toronto
Production photographs published in early October captured Lohan on the Toronto set carrying coffee while dressed in a black dress and matching blazer. Golding joins the production after building a prominent career in the romance genre following his breakout role in 2018’s Crazy Rich Asians.
Golding’s career features prominent romantic leading roles, including performances in Paul Feig’s Last Christmas opposite Emilia Clarke, Hong Khaou’s indie feature Monsoon, and Nacho Vigalondo’s sci-fi romance Daniela Forever.
The supporting ensemble features Ego Nwodim, Randall Park, and Victor Garber. Executive producers on the film include Olivia Krevoy, Jimmy Townsend, Galen Fletcher, and screenwriter Eric Champnella.
