Senator Lindsey Graham Issues Warning to Iran After Hamas Attack on Israel

In the aftermath of Hamas’ unprecedented and deadly attack on Israel, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) has issued a stern warning to Iran, urging the nation to avoid escalating the conflict in the region. Speaking on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Graham revealed that he had just spoken with Israeli officials about their goals in the current situation.

“Their goal is to destroy Hamas in the south and try to save as many innocent Palestinians as possible to prevent escalation north from Hezbollah,” Graham stated. “Here’s my message. If Hezbollah, which is a proxy of Iran, launches a massive attack on Israel, I would consider that a threat to the State of Israel, existential in nature.”

Not stopping at mere warnings, Senator Graham went on to announce his plans to introduce a resolution in the United States Senate, allowing for military action in conjunction with Israel to cripple Iran’s oil business. He emphasized the severity of the situation, adding, “Iran, if you escalate this war, we’re coming for you.”

The conflict began when Hamas launched its attack on Israel earlier this month. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared war on the group, which the U.S. has classified as a terrorist organization. The ongoing war has claimed over 3,600 lives in Israel and Gaza, and there are concerns that Israel may launch a ground operation in Gaza.

Adding to the volatility in the region, Iran-backed Hezbollah, an ally of Hamas, has also exchanged fire with Israel recently. This has intensified tensions in the wake of Israel’s separate campaign against Hamas.

When asked about the possibility of declaring war on Iran, Senator Graham asserted his willingness to use military force to cripple the funding behind Hamas and Hezbollah. “I am poised to use military force to destroy the source of funding for Hamas and Hezbollah,” he declared. Graham attributed a large majority of the groups’ funding to Iran, branding them as the “great evil.”

In an address aimed directly at Iran, Senator Graham cautioned, “If Hezbollah escalates against Israel, it will be because Iran told them to. Then Iran, you’re in the crosshairs of the United States and Israel.”

It remains to be seen how Iran will respond to Senator Graham’s warning, but tensions in the region are undoubtedly high. As the world watches, the United States and Israel stand firmly united in their commitment to safeguard the security of Israel, even if it means taking military action against those who threaten its existence.
