Argentine soccer idol Lionel Messi will co-produce his own animated series with Sony Music Entertainment, shortly after winning the World Cup in Qatar.
The athlete will leave the playing field to reach the small screen, in a series that will show Messi as a child at the same time that he faces obstacles while traveling through a video game.
Aimed at children and young people and will feature original music by artists and composers from the record company. It will also be produced in English, Spanish and several other languages.
Sony Music’s Premium Content Division produces this show in association with Leo Messi Management, the Argentine athlete’s company. The soccer star will oversee the development and distribution of the series.
There is still no release date and no streaming platform or television channel is going to broadcast the anticipated show. It is unknown if Lionel will voice him for this animated project. But Messi revealed that one of the main reasons for partnering in this production is because his children are great lovers of animated series and he wanted to do or participate in something that his little ones would enjoy.
“Since I was a child, I have always loved animated series and my children are huge fans of animated characters. Being able to participate in an animation project makes me happy, because it fulfills one of my dreams. I would like to thank Sony Music for joining this project and we hope that everyone likes the result, especially girls and boys, ”he reflected, in this regard.

Messi has already been involved in other television projects. Let’s remember that in July of last year he was one of the main figures of the National Team Argentina: the series, Prime Video production that reflected the behind-the-scenes of the Albiceleste team from the rebuilding of the legendary team to their way to Qatar 2022.
