A day of fun turned into tragedy in California when a niña 4 years old and his brother 2 years old They lost their lives after being swept away by the current of a river in Thurman Flats, near San Bernardino, United States.
The fateful event occurred while the family was enjoying a picnic in this beautiful mountainous area. According to reports from the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Office and the Yucaipa Police Department, the children were playing near the river when they were surprised by the current.
The mother, whose name has not yet been revealed, desperately searched for her children once she noticed their absence. Despite her efforts and the help of other people present in the area, the children were found lifeless a considerable distance downstream.
Rescue teams, including officers from the Yucaipa police station, Mentone County firefighters and the sheriff’s air rescue service, quickly mobilized in search of the missing children. Sadly, their bodies were found near the river bank.
Despite efforts to save their lives, the children were pronounced dead upon arrival at local hospitals. The mother, in the midst of anguish over the loss of her children, was also injured during the search.
