A Diverse Sonic Palette for the Riverfront
This year’s curation reflects a deliberate move toward genre diversity, spanning country, conscious rap, New Orleans funk, and classic rock tributes. The headline performance arrives June 12, when the Grammy-nominated Spin Doctors take the stage. Known for their massive 90s hits like “Two Princes” and “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong,” the band is expected to draw a significant crowd to the riverfront, supported by opening act Jag Robinson.
The series opens on May 22 with rising country singer-songwriter Alana Springsteen. “They said, ‘The stuff that you do on the Levee, the stuff that you do with Regatta, the stuff that you’re doing in City Center,’” Goodwin said. Live on the Levee is the centerpiece of a 12-week entertainment stretch in the Capital City. The series will take a planned hiatus during the first week of July to accommodate the Charleston Sternwheel Regatta, one of the region’s most storied traditions.
