After the disappointment in the semi-finals of the FIBA Champions League, Hapoel Holon is currently competing in Bilbao against Ludwigsburg for a battle for third place in the factory. As mentioned, Holon lost 78:71 to Tenerife in the Final Four, and missed an expensive opportunity to reach the grand final.
Guy Goodes’ team came to Spain with a respectable amount of fans, aiming to record a historic European title, but encountered Spaniards who were superior throughout the game. Joe Ragland recorded a good game after scoring 22 points and adding five rebounds, but Marcelino Havartz made the difference from the other side. The opponent on the other hand, lost 63:55 to Manresa, which in fact determined the final of every Spaniard.
The two teams met twice this season in the framework of the FIBA Champions League, when in both meetings it was Goodes’ players who came out on top. The first session ended in a convincing 51:69, while the second session was much closer and ended in a dramatic 68:71.

Kia Goodes (Radad Jabara)Adam Smith scored the first points in the half-distance basket, and Justin Simon immediately returned with a slight layup. Joe Ragland penetrated alone and scored two more. Chris Johnson continued with two shots from the penalty spot, while Jordan Holls answered with a three of his own. Rival Elkins scored four straight points and set up a five-point lead. Guy Pnini calmed down with an important three. Frederick Bourdieu continued with another three, Simon answered from the other side with four straight. Michael Kaiser scored under the basket but Simon sniped two more. Jacob Patrick scored his first two. Steve Zack scored a point from the line, but Simon answered with two of his own. Ragland completed three points from the line and set up 27:19 at the end of the quarter.

Johnson scored an easy layup with the opening of the second quarter, Ragland continued with another layup and reduced to four points. Tyros Maggie continued with two more after a nice penetration. Holon’s defense was in good shape until Simon returned with his own layup. Cotton and Holes scored two quick threes and increased the lead to 10. Two easy for Kaiser under the basket, but Simon continued with Paul Basket and completed a three-point move. Lukesh Herzog scored the first two from half distance, Cotton continued with two more shots from the penalty line, increasing the difference to 13 points.
