Liverpool returned to the top of the table after a 3-1 win over Burnley in the 24th matchday of the Premier League, leaving them behind Manchester City who earlier beat Everton 2-0 but with a game in hand.
The “reds” started the game strongly, managing to open the scoring with Diogo Zota in the 31st minute of the meeting, but the visitors brought the match to an even level before half-time, making it 1-1 in the 45th minute with O’Shea. In the second half, Klopp’s players cleared the case for victory. In the 52′, Luis Dias gave Liverpool the reins again for 2-1, while the final 3-1 was made by Darwin Nunez in the 79′.
Tottenham… saw it all against Brighton, but were able to get the three points by winning 2-1 in stoppage time. The “seagulls” were the ones who took the lead with an accurate penalty kick by Pascal Gross in the 17th minute. The Londoners equalized at 1-1 with Pape Sarr in the 61st minute, only for Brennan Johnson to come on in the 7th minute of stoppage time to make it 2-1.
