Liverpool turned to victory against Brighton – put pressure on City and Arsenal – Dagsavisen

The victory brings Jürgen Klopp’s men up to 67 points, three and four points ahead of Arsenal and Manchester City respectively. The latter two are coming together for the big game in Manchester later on Sunday.

However, the red shirts from Merseyside did not have it easy against Roberto De Zerbi and Brighton.

Already after a minute and a half played at Anfield, former Arsenal and Manchester United player Danny Welbeck hammered the visitors into the lead with a great strike.

During the first half, both Salah and Darwin Núñez were close to the net, but it was 1-1 at the break.

About halfway into the second half, the hosts mustered an artificial attack, and Salah was eventually able to easily roll in 2-1 for the hosts. It was the Egyptian’s ninth goal against Brighton.

Before this weekend’s series round, only one point separated Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City in the intense gold medal match in the Premier League.

Damage problem

Klopp has had to deal with a lot of injury problems this season. Especially in the back position, the German has had to rotate the constellations a good handful of times, and on Sunday both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson were missing. The strong back duo has been available at the same time in just nine league games this season.
