Liverpool Face Injury Crisis Ahead of Crucial Manchester City Clash
Liverpool are bracing for a challenging Premier League encounter against Manchester City on Sunday, with manager Arne Slot awaiting updates on the fitness of several key players. Both Liverpool and City are navigating significant injury concerns as they prepare for the highly anticipated match.

Gomez Fitness a Major Concern for the Reds
The biggest question mark surrounds the availability of defender Joe Gomez. He has missed the last two matches after sustaining a hip injury during a collision with goalkeeper Alisson Becker in the 3-2 defeat against Bournemouth. Slot remains hopeful that Gomez will recover in time to offer an option at right-back.
However, Liverpool are already without several players in that position. Both Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley are currently sidelined. Bradley’s season is over following knee surgery, while Frimpong is expected to be out for a couple of weeks due to a groin issue that kept him out of the weekend’s match against Newcastle United.

Manchester City are facing their own injury challenges, particularly in defense. Injuries to centre-backs Josko Gvardiol (shin) and John Stones (thigh) reportedly prompted the club to explore a move for Marc Guehi, though Ruben Dias has returned to training this week.
City also have concerns regarding their attacking options, with forwards Rayan Cherki and Jeremy Doku listed as doubts. Mateo Kovacic and Savio are expected to be absent for the match. City will then travel to Newcastle United for the second leg of their League Cup semi-final on Wednesday.
