The new sporting director of Liverpool Football Club, Richard Hughes, revealed the fate of the team’s stars, including the Egyptian Mohamed Salah, with the appointment of Dutch coach Arne Slot as a successor to the German Klopp.
Richard Hughes said in a press conference, regarding the fate of the contracts of the trio Mohamed Salah, Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk, and English full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold: “This is a private and confidential matter between the club’s management and the players.”
The Reds’ sporting director explained, saying: “The most important thing remains the commitment and full commitment to the club and its project, and we are fully convinced that this is the case for the trio.”
For his part, the new coach Arne Slot commented in the same conference, saying: “In general, any big star wants to win titles.”
The Dutch coach said: “All players must have a strong desire to achieve victories.”
Mohamed Salah and Van Dijk’s contracts with Liverpool end at the end of the new season (2024-2025), with frequent reports of Saudi clubs’ interest in signing them.
The Egyptian star and Van Dijk have been playing for Liverpool for 7 years, while Arnold is a product of the English club’s youth team.
