Living sculptures, performances and a tribute to Zvika Peak: a street theater festival in Eilat

by time news

Last weekend the city of Eilat was dressed in pleasant winter festival clothes. Eilat’s northern promenade hosted the “Eilat Street Theater Festival”, and along the seafront there were a variety of shows for the whole family with international circus artists, acrobatics, live sculptures and fantastic characters, who engaged the promenade walkers in singing and dancing interaction.

Eilat’s boardwalk welcomed the families who came to the event with rays of sunshine that almost forgot that it was the middle of February, and in almost every corner you could see a colorful live sculpture, a musician or an elaborate and special show.

We opened the morning with the “Beyond the Peak” show on the Royal Beach Promenade, a circus show entirely paying tribute to the music of the 70s, including the songs of the singer and composer Zvika Peak. A clownish parody show without words and full of music. A couple of circus artists are responsible for the show, who gave a spectacular and fascinating experience in a variety of alternating aerial elements on a tripod along with their cute children.

Immediately after, a “circus on wheels” came onto the square where the children who arrived with their masks were included in the show. Among the international shows that arrived this year can be found “The Adventures of Giselle Le Pearl”, by the artist Jay Tour – a circus show coming straight from Germany, a one-man show without words, which combines elements of theater, acrobatics, juggling and comedy. Another artist who will come from Germany is Jan Manska, with an energetic show showing high circus skills with an emphasis on Diablo combined with humor and music.

Also, for the first time at the festival, the ARTISTA inflatable exhibition was established, a 360 experience in large dimensions, which includes a lot of huge black and white inflatables, actors inside matching dolls and music.
