‘Love Is blind’ Star Megan Walerius Welcomes Baby Boy After Reunion Show romance
Reality television continues to surprise, as Love Is Blind season 9 contestant megan Walerius revealed she gave birth to a son, Brooks, just two and a half months ago, following a whirlwind romance that blossomed after the show’s filming concluded.
megan walerius, known as “Sparkle Megan” on the popular netflix dating series, shared the joyous news during the reunion episode that aired on October 30th. The revelation came as a surprise to viewers, as Walerius had previously ended her engagement with fellow contestant Jordan Keltner.
The premise of Love Is Blind centers around ten men and ten women attempting to forge connections and even get engaged without ever seeing each other. Couples then navigate the challenges of building a life together in the real world, culminating in a wedding decision. Walerius and Keltner initially bonded over a shared experience – his five-year-old son Luca’s Type 1 diabetes diagnosis, mirroring a health challenge faced by Walerius’s late father.
Though, the relationship ultimately faltered due to differing lifestyles. During a confessional on the show, Walerius openly questioned her readiness for parenthood, stating, “I don’t think I thought through how challenging it is and how I would need to make a lot of concessions to how I currently live. Honestly, this has me questioning if I’m even cut out to be a mom.”
Despite these earlier doubts, Walerius found love with Paul, whom she met through a mutual friend three months after filming wrapped in April of the previous year. She became pregnant three months into their relationship. “We definitely had our ups and downs. I’m not gonna say it was perfect, but Paul’s been amazing,” she shared.
Walerius described motherhood as a transformative experience, emphasizing the selflessness it requires. “I’m definitely learning to be a lot more selfless.I think that becoming a mom is the ultimate act of selflessness,” she explained.”It’s given me a lot more empathy too for Jordan and being a single dad. I applaud Jordan for even doing this experiment and putting his heart out there. It’s really special.”
Prior to the reunion broadcast, paparazzi photographs surfaced of Walerius near her Denver home with a man believed to be Paul and their newborn son, sparking speculation among fans.
Keltner expressed his support for Walerius, noting that she had been “clear” with him about her pregnancy before the reunion aired. “She was just very transparent, which I appreciate. If I would have found out right here, right now, I think that would have been jarring,” he said, extending well wishes to the couple.
Season 9 of Love Is Blind marked a first for the franchise, as none of the six engaged couples ultimately chose to get married. Series creator Chris Coelen explained to Netflix’s tudum, “I’m honestly surprised this is the first season where nobody got married. While we’re always rooting for our participants to find a lifelong commitment – because that’s what they all say they come to Love is Blind for – most importantly, we root for them to make the decisions they feel are right for themselves. and I think that’s what happened here.”
Walerius’s journey from questioning her readiness for motherhood to embracing her new role demonstrates the unpredictable nature of life and love, even – and perhaps especially
