In Moscow on Saturday, November 20, the record for low atmospheric pressure was broken. The barometer readings dropped to 721.4 millimeters of mercury, said Yevgeny Tishkovets, a leading employee of the Phobos weather center.

According to him, in the capital, by 09:00, the readings of the instruments were 0.4 millimeters of mercury lower than the absolute record of this day (November 20), set in 2008.

“I will add that the absolute record for low atmospheric pressure for the whole of November in the capital is 709.0 millimeters of mercury, which was set on November 25, 1973,” Tishkovets said on Instagram.

Experts say that pressure in the city and the region will continue to decline. The final value of the record will be announced later.

On the eve of a gerontologist, Professor Yuri Konev said that next weekend Muscovites will witness a “baric abyss”, but only 10% of citizens will be able to feel such drops in atmospheric pressure. The professor recommended that meteorological people observe a sleep schedule, reduce physical and emotional stress, and it is advisable to consult a doctor about their health status.
