Two Italian financial consultants, operating from Switzerland, were called into question by Luca Cordero di Montezemolo due to an investment that went wrong and for which the former president of Ferrari, Fiat, Maserati, Alitalia and Italo requested compensation of 50 million euros. The case is ongoing at the England and Wales High Court in London. And the two brokers sued are Federico Faleschini, owner of Logic Holding, with offices in the canton of Zug, and Daniele Migani, owner of the London-based Xy Uk, as well as another company, Twinkle Capital, the latter with headquarters in Zug and managed by the Faleschini-Migani duo. By following their advice, the Montezemolo family would have lost a very high sum as reported by the Swiss portal Gotham City. But Montezemolo, through his assistant, specified to Repubblica that the 50 million we are talking about are the compensation requested but the loss is less than that amount.

In 2016, Gig, an acronym for Gi Globinvestment Limited, a financial vehicle managed by Matteo Cordero di Montezemolo, Luca’s son, based in the British capital, invested in a Luxembourg fund Skew Base Fund. The investment worked until March 2020 when, following the onset of the Covid 19 pandemic, which among other things caused heavy losses on the markets, the fund suffered a collapse and some of its parts were liquidated. The Montezemolos’ decision to file a lawsuit, which will be decided by the British magistrates, was taken after the discovery that the two brokers, who presented themselves as independent consultants, had participated in the establishment of the Skew Base Fund, which they had also recommended to other clients. They were, in essence, “implicated in the events in question” according to the English court which a rejected a request to quash the prosecutionby Federico Faleschini.
